I'm not positive about this because the virus-writing-guys could be a
lot smarter than I am, but it's probably a good idea to create
yourself a castrated user account that *only* belongs to the "users"
group and use that account pretty much all the time.  This should
(probably) prevent viruses from going right after the hard drive or
making partitioning calls to the OS

At least that's the theory.
